Out of the sea, he bore me; his tunic he rent so that he could bind my injured foot, hands firm but gentle. All the while I looked upon his hair, his shoulders… until, his work done, he turned his head and I could gaze fully into his eyes.
Upon the shore, we lay, and he answered another need of mine with lips as tender as his healing hands. The sea, which had buoyed us up and held us close, now was once again our friend, its waves upon the beach our rhythm, as we made love in the sand.
